    It seems most apps take up 500mb/1gb of space now. Its perverse. I do feel like I should get a 8TB HDD
    to use the non SSD type apps. So if its music/digital books etc.

    For storage of music I have a pair of 8TB hard drives in an LVM mirror. Access is pretty quick. Obviously writing takes a little longer but you would never really notice is, plus its much cheaper per gb.
